看到最后20％才终于好看起来的小说。讲得是难民的故事，主角一路动荡奔波这两天看得我panic attack一阵一阵的，不过结局还是温柔的。进第一道门之前的部分实在冗长，进门之后也并没有迎来故事高潮。平平淡淡看了本难民情侣流浪记。不太喜欢作者文笔，矫揉造作故意很拗口。但时不时会爆金句: We are all migrants through time.

Magical realism v effective in propelling plot and eliminating the journey. Omniscient narration, vignettes of other doors&ppl, elevates story to global scale. Love 1st half: addictive love story, spare but ruthless depiction of violence, mysterious buildup to revelation of doors. 2nd half: Mykonos camp, London mansion, Marin hill. Ends on hope.
