郭小櫓，1973年生於浙江溫嶺石塘鎮漁村，18歲就讀北京電影學院，獲學士及碩士學位，寫劇本，做電影導演，發錶小說和影評，齣版有文集《電影地圖》、《電影理論筆記》，小說《芬芳的37°2》、《我心中的石頭鎮》和電影劇本《我媽媽的男朋友是誰》等。2002年起旅居英國，至今拍瞭六部長短片，包括紀錄北京申奧期間的《嵌入肉體的城市》，獲法國巴黎“國際人權影展”大奬、描寫城鄉及歸鄉情結的《今天的魚怎麼樣？》，獲2007年法國 Créteil“國際女性影展”評審團大奬，以及藉由雙親的東西行旅透視文化衝突的新片《西行之路》等。

翻过封面，背面写着：...first novel in (deliberately bad) English is a romantic comedy about... believe me, it is not a comedy, except for the beginning. Maybe that applies for most of the romances in the world.
評分故事简单，语言也简单，但是却不乏精彩深刻之笔，比如题目这句“our Chinese live in the expectation”——中国人不容易满足，社会也不容许轻易知足。
評分第一是英语。那简直是灾难。各种语法错误，各种胡说八道。一开始好像是故意的，女主角刚到英国，刚开始学习语言，这个是日记体小说，故意写错句子什么的，可以理解。但一直到小说最后，各种错误还是不断。怎么能出版还各种评奖呢？ 第二是剧情。有的书吹嘘自己的时候会说纯净得...

Fragmental, sentimental and sort of anarchical, Xiaolu Guo's work is a word play in the disguise of the lexicon novel that emphasizes self-learning and self-discovery.

Love can lead a woman being lost, and in that lost world perhanps the only thing to do is leave to build a new world." -- I just finished this book few minutes ago, it is really touching. I love it, but I do not like the ending, it's sad.
