Berlin 1942
When Bruno returns home from school one day, he discovers that his belongings are being packed in crates. His father has received a promotion and the family must move from their home to a new house far far away, where there is no one to play with and nothing to do. A tall fence running alongside stretches as far as the eye can see and cuts him off from the strange people he can see in the distance.
But Bruno longs to be an explorer and decides that there must be more to this desolate new place than meets the eye. While exploring his new environment, he meets another boy whose life and circumstances are very different to his own, and their meeting results in a friendship that has devastating consequences.

评分用词简单，比较不喜欢的一点是上文提到过的事物再提及会原封不动完整再叙述一遍，太过拖沓。电影跟书的差别，还是挺大的，而电影的那些改编，个人觉得还是比较成功的。书其实写的还是比较平淡的，电影的画面恰好弥补了这一点。而电影的时长限制又决定它必须要放弃一些细节，比方说书里Bruno与Shmuel的一些对话。这可能是目前看的作品中，改编电影版与原作各成一体却又互相补充，变得更完美的一部作品吧。书的震撼，没有电影来的深。
评分高考结束后的暑假读的第一本英文原著
评分真正意义上读过的第一本英文原著，学校安排的。原先看过电影，后来才发现学校安排了书，情节和电影差不多，只是结尾不一样，书里结尾父亲是很麻木的，更凸显纳粹对人的洗脑。这本书字比较大，难度还行，看书的确能增长词汇量
评分非常非常愚钝地在将近结尾处才惊觉out-with的真实含义 心突然往下沉
