Sinuously constructed in four interlocking parts, "Invisible" opens in New York City in the spring of 1967 when twenty-year-old Adam Walker, an aspiring poet and student at Columbia University meets the enigmatic Frenchman Rudolf Born, and his silent and seductive girlfriend Margot. Three different narrators tell the story, as it travels in time from 1967 to 2007 and moves from New York to Paris and to a remote Caribbean island in a story of unbridled sexual hunger and a relentless quest for justice. 作者简介
Paul Auster was born in Newark, New Jersey in the United States in 1947. After attending Columbia University, he lived in France for four years. Since 1974 he has published poems, essays, novels, screenplays and translations. He was the editor of the short story anthology, True Tales of American Life. He lives in Brooklyn, New York.

评分保罗奥斯特说一句很重很有分量的话，也显得轻浮；麦克尤恩平淡的叙述中都有一种直指黑暗的力量。因为麦克尤恩珍惜自己的语言，对于所指与能指之间的距离拿捏得十分精准，他知道什么时候该言不及义，什么时候一语中的。而奥斯特的语言慢慢滑脱了控制，变成单纯的能指之间叙述游戏，所以少了动人的力量。
