It would be interesting if this is a photography exhibition, but when reading it, it flows well, yet it disorients me quite a lot. But I guess that's a good thing, getting lost in the cities. My fav part is Marco and Khan's conversations because they touch perspectives of looking at life and everything.

评分defiance of all conventions and assumptions, city layout as memory aid, city of rotational grazing (living), cities of the dead and the unborn, memories, imaginations, and appearances as realities, language and reality as symbols, time and possibility as dimensions

Imaginary conversations between Marco Polo and his host, the Chinese ruler Kublai Khan, conjure up cities of magical times. “Of all tasks, describing the contents of a book is the most difficult and in the case of a marvelous invention like Invisible Cities, perfectly irrelevant” (Gore Vidal). Translated by William Weaver. A Helen and Kurt Wolff Book
One of the world's best storytellers, Italo Calvino (Invisible Cities) pinpoints for future generations the universal values for literature. Here are his works, methods, intentions, and hopes.
