MARGARET ATWOOD, whose work has been published in over thirty-five countries, is the author of more than forty books of fiction, poetry, and critical essays. It was not as good as I have expected, by 1/3, I was still a bit confused. There are, of course, good points reflected in the book, about women, love, desire, sex, reproduction, mind, idea, etc. Yet it is not gripping nor powerful enough to shock one to the core.But maybe it is because similar situations are not unseen in Chinese history.
评分听的Claire Danes读的有声书，Claire的声音稍稍强硬了些，不太适合表现Offred温吞的性格，我觉得女主角的这种性格正是此作的特色，它讲的不是一个面对压迫奋起反击的英雄故事，而是一名普通得不再普通的女子在政治宗教文化生活环境突变下的直观反应，真实得可怕，特别是那些协助统治阶层压迫这些沦为工具的女子的那些同性别的人。

评分A novel about sex, language, power, taboo, the past, hope and desperation, romance… 很久没读过内容这么丰富而且好看的书了，结局也是出乎意料而震撼人心的，鸡冻地不知道论文写啥了。
评分该书关于欲望的描写概括起来就是：百爪挠心，先痒后痛。。最后那个historical note让作品惊悚程度更上一层楼
