好書，很貼切的中譯名 - 項目觀止　　為世人完整的重現瞭整個NT開發過程的方方麵麵，讓大傢對這樣大型、復雜項目有瞭一個感性的認識，對項目、團隊管理具有不小的啓發作用。　　感觸：　　一：經濟刺激作用。不用看薪資待遇方麵，最初加入NT團隊的人，2年左右的時間通過持有的微軟股票基本都成瞭百萬富翁。效果類似重賞之下必有勇夫　　二：關鍵的高層決策。麵臨與最主要客戶IBM決裂的情況下取消瞭OS/2計劃，NT不再兼容OS/2，整個OS/2團隊人員並入NT團隊。　　三：人纔方麵。一流的、絕對優秀的人 + 聰明的人，大部分都具有視編程為一切的興趣。　　四：管理模式。這方麵的東西太多。例如這樣重要的一個項目，蓋茨也隻關注一些關鍵問題；卡特勒的行事風格難說好與壞，但如果不是他這個項目八成無法成功。項目龐大復雜，但那麼長的時間中卻沒有個像樣的管理流程、規範，甚至很長時間中連個schedule都沒有，項目中卻人盡其纔，成員具備足夠的空間和自由度發揮自己的特長，做自己的事情。卡特勒的的性格、方式和偏好適用於小型團隊，NT項目的成功很大程度也依賴於卡特勒的個人能力與行事作風，以及其他項目關鍵人員在其中的指揮以及溝通協調作用。這種項目經驗完全是無法復製的，換個時間地點讓卡特勒重新再來一個這樣的項目，未必能成功。大型團隊、項目中，必要的管理措施必不可少，但為瞭充分發揮成員的主動性，管理不能太細太死，逼著成員一個蘿蔔呆一個坑，然後就兩耳不聞窗外事。　　五：協作溝通。成員盡是天纔級人物，性格個性異彩紛呈，幾乎無法管理；派係、小團隊之間滿是衝突，卡特勒在潛意識裏也不願意管理大型團隊。這樣的背景下，核心管理人員、各關鍵成員采取的各種大大小小的措施、做事方式，推動NT項目前進直到最後成功，是這本書的另一個重點。
