Most stories in this collection bored me to tears. Zero-tolerance with its overly detailed yet banal depictions of women’s psychology, especially with their obscure, bizarre, and quite naive fling/crush/fascination/affection towards cruel/rude/egotistic/cowardly male figures. Such a depressing book.

全都是在差不多的环境下，人烟稀少，寒冷的加拿大小镇，生活寡淡。我觉得比较无聊...喜欢Dolly这一篇。（年底清算般）短篇的好处是也可以随意再读读某个小故事

写得很细腻，越读越苦涩。我们一个加拿大翻译给我同事说: my home is beautiful but harsh。可以想像在那种人烟稀少又寒冷地方生活的寡淡氛围。年纪越大越觉得比起跌宕起伏天马行空的故事好像更喜欢贴近生活的东西，告诉我在每一个平静面孔下都活着一位洗尽铅华的英雄

最喜欢的居然是第一个故事，哎呀一声，大概是在书中看到了自己。
