可能是个人原因，不太喜欢书中夸张铺陈的叙事风格，繁琐的颜色词汇，也不喜欢这种对情感过于隐晦的描写，看着头疼，全书看起来总觉得很压抑。但还是比较喜欢书中某些人物，比如伊达贝尔，个性鲜明，叛逆不羁。

Got some trouble comprehending the details, anyway successfully figured out what's going on in the story, the plot is quite clear, and the themes are somewhat vague and strange, interesting is the atmosphere the author set in the book, also the relationship between different characters is subtle and fragile. Truly gothic and mysterious memories.

膽怯而神經質的支吾聲，零落分散，勉強麯到中段突然灌入連綿好幾頁的randolph波瀾起伏的獨白迴憶，讀得很帶勁，緊接著又落迴少年人的氣短narrative直至結尾。挺美的，雖然對southern gothic不那麼感冒。書名尤其美。

整本書就像一個繁復而曖昧的夢境，潛意識小徑分叉的廢棄花園

前田贊的書，必須看。【寒假就這麼一個任務瞭，今天讀瞭百分之十，目測讀完是有點艱巨的，但還好算不上無從下手，不過英語的詞匯量真是太寬廣瞭。。。】【大年初一，讀完瞭讀完瞭！好難的書啊，辭藻太華麗瞭很卡閱讀速度，有很多地方沒看懂，我要找中文版再看一遍，不過但是，這仿佛是一本展現同性戀最終找到自我意識的書。。。。給五星吧】
