這本小書重點在於講解英語句子結構安排與錶意的關係，通過注意長短句、單詞位置等，讓句子更有效、更明確。裏麵也講到一些外語寫作者常犯的錯誤。內容不多，但常讀常新。

看的時候還是覺得詞匯量有些不夠。其實和我預期的不太一樣，不是教人如何寫作，而是寫作規範的內容。說實話感覺對英語水平比較差如我，還停留在如何寫齣東西來的人來說，談寫作規範其實有些早瞭

1979年第三版。並沒有想象中的好。中間講解單詞用法的部分略受用。
