黑格尔(1770～1831)，德国古典唯心主义辩证法哲学的集大成者，彻底的客观唯心主义者。他主张，理念是第一性的，它以纯概念的形式在逻辑学中不断发展，然后理念外化成为自然界，最后又在精神哲学的各门科学中回复到理念自身。这样，他建立了一个以理念为基础的、包括了一切科学的庞大的客观唯心主义体系。他在哲学史上的主要贡献是，把矛盾看作一切事物的真理与本质，论述了辩证法就是对立面的统一。他把整个的自然界、人类社会、人的思维都看作处于普遍联系与发展变化中。其辩证法的不彻底性在于，他的作为“绝对真理”的哲学体系是绝对的、永恒不变的。马克思和恩格斯在创立唯物辩证法时，批判地吸取了黑格尔哲学中的辩证法这一合理内核。主要著作有《精神现象学》、《逻辑学》、《哲学史讲演录》、《哲学全书纲要》等。后者分为“逻辑哲学”、“自然哲学”、“精神哲学”三部分，是对其全部哲学体系的阐述。
