Lynchian与《妖夜慌踪》仅仅是书中若干事例的其中一种，除却第二章"The Femaine Act"对新/旧黑色电影的女性形象有一些论述之外，基本上与林奇无关，Arts Of Ridiculous Sublime是一本于千禧年写就的论述，其真正的主角是网络时代及其后现代By-Product：鲍德里亚，后认知主义，德勒兹，哈拉维（尽管在对“赛博格”的定义上与哈拉维截然相反）。以及齐老爷子永远的"Lacanian"主体性，地位大约等同《新千年文学备忘录》之于卡尔维诺。
