He had no lawyer, no advocate on the outside. In desperation, he writes a letter to Guardian Ministries, a small nonprofit run by Cullen Post, a lawyer who is also an Episcopal minister.
Guardian accepts only a few innocence cases at a time. Cullen Post travels the country fighting wrongful convictions and taking on clients forgotten by the system. With Quincy Miller, though, he gets far more than he bargained for. Powerful, ruthless people murdered Keith Russo, and they do not want Quincy Miller exonerated.
They killed one lawyer twenty-two years ago, and they will kill another without a second thought.

I never knew much about and had much interested in wrongful conviction back then as a criminology student. But this book changed my opinion about it. A very good read and respect what they do.
评分john grisham简直就是律师小说版的dan brown，俩人都写悬疑，破案，都是那种剧情繁复错杂，让人心脏吊到嗓子眼恨不得一天就看完的那种小说。读完能明白为啥这种小说畅销，可惜这种类型并不是我喜欢的
评分借侦探题材深刻反映美国种族和司法制度的深刻问题，主题十分深刻。故事上后半部分铺开各种线索之后却最终没有找到真凶，这个安排感觉有些虎头蛇尾，但是后记中提到故事的现实版就是如此，所以也可以算作作者现实主义的安排。期望能早日翻拍成电影。
