其实把这本书作为大英博物馆的参观指南或者路线图有些不合适，因为所选的很多文物的价值其实在于“背后”，当然按图索骥如果能回忆起这些背后的故事也是很有收获的。看完最大的感慨就是专家和普通人的最大区别就在于这些“背后”的知识。建议直接看英文版，文字很好，也不太难懂。

陆陆续续读完了，有几篇非常非常不错。喜欢他以全球的视角看历史。从图书馆借了一本纸质的再看一下插图。

好创意，长知识。要是选题和解说能更注重文物的考古和艺术价值，不要刻意追求社会价值就更好了。
