人類學認識論的反思五花八門，這本書無疑是必備讀物。分析不算縝密。有幾個作者提煉的概念很管用。由於引入一個先在的reality和錯誤的representation的二分，削弱瞭反思的力量。

費邊開篇就說時間、金錢和語言是交換價值的三種實在體現：後兩種是當然，關於“時間”的說法值得繼續推敲。對我個人來說，費邊的討論最有意義的部分是他對於傳播模型的質疑，即是否存在所謂的“發齣者（生産者）”與“接受者（消費者）”之間的時空差距。在我自己的討論中，跟著費邊的思路，可以認為“現代性”和“文學價值”這些概念並不是從西歐傳播開來的，而是在全球性的地方互動中生發齣來的概念綜閤，不同的地方性價值在互動中中找到可以交換的錶述方式。
