書信體小說，多角通信，主要是女主和閨蜜間的和嫂子和母親之間的。lady susan人生態度相當坦蕩——I never behaved less like a coquette in the whole course of my life.操控男人簡直得心應手I have subdued him entirely by sentiment and serious conversation, and made him, I may venture to say, at least half in love with me, without the semblance of the most commonplace flirtation.這樣一看，bbc的電影拍得挺好的，把看信的過程都具現化瞭。

英文比較古老。書信的形式講故事很委婉，但人物個性十分鮮明。

cute little epistolary novel

幾乎全部用書信撐起的一本短篇小說。沒有場景描寫，沒有直接對話，有的隻是多位寄信人的主觀意見。從看似不連貫的敘述中，一個在同性中頗有微詞，卻讓年輕異性無法抗拒的風流寡婦的故事躍然紙上。Lady Susan 永遠不會驚慌失措，永遠有下一招。彆人的手指戳在她的脊梁骨上，仿佛說著“你不就是仗著自己長得美嗎”，然後她點點頭：“是啊。”Austen流暢的長句也的確閤瞭Mrs. Vernon說Lady Susan口纔瞭得會說漂亮話的說法。
