Great book from a great mind. 13、16-18章格外推薦。有關特雷莎修女和甘地的論斷需要進一步核實。

It offers a quite insightful contemporary observation of HOW violent and conflictual consequences ensued from monotheistic religions destroy the well-being of humanness, the core doctrine of atheistic humanism. However, one issue that needs examining and that I am interested in how Hitchens would respond is a possibility of Religion without God.

Religion hyponizes me and fails to hook me.

三星半。文風毒辣的書看起來總是很過癮，但全書並沒有什麼新觀點，無非是把古往今來各路宗教狂以上帝之名所行惡事作瞭個總結，以此證明宗教的邪惡本質。religion poisons everything我基本是同意的，但作者自己的論證有些流於為批判而批判，事實與觀點之間缺少邏輯嚴密的推導。也許作為記者和評論傢隻能走到這裏瞭，why and how這類問題的答案要從心理學甚至神經科學中去尋找。
