政治的實質是 Friend/Enemy 的二律背反，以對方的存在為條件，也以消滅對方為目的。姑且不談這是否完全正確，施密特給齣的解決措施也很fascism瞭。

作者聲稱政治的齣發點在於“敵友之分”，然而書中多談“敵”鮮談“友”，對霍布斯的解讀大多六經注我，不及六年後的The Leviathan in the State Theory of Thomas Hobbes腳踏實地，畢竟納粹的荒誕是施密特1938年前後纔逐漸意識到的事實。

確實是刀刀見血，”but absolutely no liberal politics, only a liberal critique of politics”。施密特對自由主義的批評核心大約在於兩點（1）自由主義去政治化的方案在根本上是無視最基本人性現實的幻想，作為敵我之分的政治本身是人性最核心的特徵（2）歐洲公法傳統的陷落直接指嚮瞭一種dehumanized的absolute enmity，更加恐怖的非人暴力恰恰是來自絕對敵意。

寫作風格很有趣嚴謹瞭，無論是對於the political 還是friend/enemy的區分！時而眼前一黑仿佛閃過一萬個黑格爾和霍布斯。但是大概這輩子也很難認同Schmitt，比如他說the humanity has no enemy，隨後又說the friend/enemy antithesis hinges on humanities. 我感覺與其說humanities以及這種exclusive distinction纔是我們的敵人而掉進否定他者的怪圈，也許更需要重新思考什麼是humanities，而什麼纔是politics

施米特1888年齣生在德國西部的一個小鎮，天主教徒，從小喜好文學、藝術、音樂、哲學、神學。在大學獲得法學博士學位後，一邊研究新康德主義法理學，一邊寫論瓦格納的華彩文章。1916年，施米特發錶瞭一部從政治哲學角度論詩人多伯勒的長詩《北極光》的專著，從此開始瞭其長達半個世紀的政治思想生涯。
