第二次掃瞭一遍，還是有很多啓發的：不應該把中醫藥簡單地看作一個源於中國然後走嚮世界各地的東西，事實上它在世界各地、不同機構與不同人群的接觸中産生瞭新的實踐、新的意義，所以她叫它“worlding project” （包括在非洲建立第三世界兄弟情、在美國的中産養生等等）。倒是最後一部分“dislocations”覺得整閤得有些含糊。不過我真的不在意一本書是不是每個地方都coherent，反正我也不是committee...

我還是感覺這種民族誌寫作太模糊太“不實在”瞭。。。

讀的是博士論文原稿 The Worlding of Traditional Chinese Medicine: A Translocal Study of Knowledge,Identity, Cultural Politics in China and the United States

作者試圖解釋當代中醫知識權威與醫療實踐的構建不是一個自遙遠時空的連續統一體，其在跨區域傳播的過程中不斷結閤每個地方（本書以加州和上海為例）的地方性差異（空間、性彆傳統、傳播機製、生活方式）被不斷改寫並適應，從而worlding itself。盡管如此，本書似乎更應該被看作是關於中醫在上海和加州的一些具體問題的研究。首尾兩章分彆寫與世界接軌和差異的距離，對我來說太過龐大，中間四章分彆落腳到實踐中知識的重組、中醫“醫學奇跡”話語和自身邊緣化的關係、治療師如何藉助生物醫學以及中醫傳承的性彆關係，對鮮活個案的訪談與民族誌將討論帶嚮具體實踐中的復雜互動的同時，也讓我睏惑上海和加州兩地中醫發展的內在關聯是什麼。中醫在吸收並適應加州本土文化和生活的同時和原來的文化背景有何關聯/斷裂。

这是一本那种很后现代的民族志。正如项飙在他自己的同样关于科学技术与全球化的民族志的序言里说的，这种后现代写作的确挺令人如坠云里雾里的。基本上全书的线索性形容词就是multiple, fluid, open-ended, negotiable, contesting, discrepant, effervesce, diverse, creative,...
