读了20%，觉得上当受骗。不是说写得不好，而是推荐的人说是反驳钻石大叔的guns, germs, and steels，可人家那本是通俗读物，这本专业性太强了。

主要观点是：基因和文化之间的变迁是一种共生关系，因此人类并非在这10000年来在基因上变化趋于停滞，而是仍然在不停“进化”。作者认为，人们都普遍承认以为环境的不同，不同人种的肤色，乃至免疫系统、运动系统都会有不同，但却拒不承认神经系统也会因为不同的环境选择压而导致不同，而这时荒谬的。相反，他们认为，正是因为欧亚大陆的农业社会造就了新的环境和新的选择压，才导致其与旧大陆、与美洲人种的不同——身体上和智力上的不同。
