教育學界最如雷貫耳的名字,終於讀瞭,原版讀起來太艱難,隻能配上中譯本纔能理解。前三章是理論基礎,核心思想大概是:教育即經驗的生長,經驗需要同時具備連續性和互動性纔能稱之為有教育意義的經驗。後幾章是理論與教育的具體方麵的結閤,包括社會控製與自由,教育目的的確立,教材的組織。杜威還是很犀利的,他指齣的種種問題在目前的教育中依然嚴重,然而其理論未免理想化。當然,理解“真正的教育”是什麼總是好的,至少有一個努力的方嚮。

kindle 讀的,大約5個小時。考研過程中太頹廢,還是得看書找迴正能量。反正是人傢杜威n年前探討經驗哲學下的教育,杜威對美國的教育體係影響巨大,很值得一讀。

Written more than two decades after Democracy and Education (Dewey's most comprehensive statement of his position in educational philosophy), this book demonstrates how Dewey reformulated his ideas as a result of his intervening experience with the progressive schools and in the light of the criticisms his theories had received.

Analyzing both "traditional" and "progressive" education, Dr. Dewey here insists that neither the old nor the new education is adequate and that each is miseducative because neither of them applies the principles of a carefully developed philosophy of experience. Many pages of this volume illustrate Dr. Dewey's ideas for a philosophy of experience and its relation to education. He particularly urges that all teachers and educators looking for a new movement in education should think in terms of the deeped and larger issues of education rather than in terms of some divisive "ism" about education, even such an "ism" as "progressivism."
