One of the finest books I read in 2012, it is also a milestone -- from now on I am one foot stepped in the door of American contemporary literature (I mean fiction)

2010.11.23 一言蔽之，美国的新结婚时代。在短小篇幅里编织进这么多时事政治运动和历史，都算是比一般小说高明的地方。但是NYT的赞美给我太多high hopes，导致看到cheesy的结局，有点不是滋味。看的时候，有些moments还是很enjoy，有些细节也写得对胃口（e.g.我和Joey在大学时间差不多）。That said, 看完以后，总觉得所有的characters都unreal & faked & overdone。p.s. 我喜欢书里面的一个观点－一个人不能有太多的自由，因为这会导致生活的无趣以及毁灭。但是我不觉得这个想法有被贯穿至结局，因此整个作品显得非常破碎。（本来用英文写了一些感想，但是居然超过字数，随便翻译看看吧。）

從不同的角度來描述一金玉其表敗絮其中的近期美國中產家庭。先是被溺愛的孩子離家出走（到鄰居家，囧）貌似一帆風順運動員出生的母親高中時確遭遇過難以啟齒的不幸經歷，早年的陰影是性格扭曲的根源，無節制的寵愛兒子，對父母的冷漠...後來我就沒看了，太厚了，如橫著放的磚頭，再說內容不感興趣

书很好，kindle读的所以没拿到签名。啊作者本人实在有趣，有一种nerdy的fu。

乔纳森·弗兰岑，美国著名小说家、随笔作家。以抨击现代传媒、书写普通民众著称，作品具有强烈的时代性。

1959年生于伊利诺伊州，1981年毕业于斯沃思莫学院德文专业。1996年，在《哈泼氏》杂志上发表了长篇随笔《偶尔做做梦》，表达了他对文学现状的担忧，从此受到广泛关注。迄今为止，出版有小说《第二十七座城市》（1988）、《强震》（1992）、《纠正》（2001），随笔集《如何孤独》（2002），以及回忆录《不舒适地带：个人史》（2006）。凭借《纠正》获得普利策奖提名和美国国家图书奖。
